WELCOME 2009!
2009 is starting off with a bang with quite a few shows! There's art openings this Thursday at Phantom Galleries and The Hive, Theatre of Note's Performance Marathon, Crane's Hollywood Tavern, back to Phantom Galleries, and rounding things off at the Electric Lodge's Max 10 event in early Feb.

I've been working with an amazing group of creative friends developing the song "The Girl of the Sea" into what seems to be turning into the beginning of a multi-media operetta. Very exciting! (Come to the Theatre of Note or Electric Lodge for that.)

A multimedia appreciation of unconventional feminine role models, curated by Shana Nys Dambrot and featuring photography, painting, installation, sculpture, video, performance, and spoken word, based on a previous installation at Salon Oblique, currently being revived and expanded in conjunction with Edgar Varela Fine Arts and Phantom Galleries LA, presented by THE Magazine.

"The Girl of the Sea", the song that has transformed into the beginning of a modern operetta, will make its debut. Mrs. Hobbs will, of course, be singing and squeezing the accordion, with Quentin Josephy on percussion, Jerry the Priest on trombone and vocals, Annabelle Cabrera on violin, Milo Martin with spoken word, Naked With Shoes (Anne & Jeff Grimaldo) with dance, and Amy Kaps with visual/spatial enrichment. Plus tons of other fun the whole night.
